Transforming mental health care accessibility through innovative programs and evidence-based approaches
At Morayo Wellness Initiative, our network of Nigerian therapists provides professional counseling to women and girls for free or at low cost. Services include:
Culturally responsive counseling by licensed professionals who understand your journey.
Safe, confidential sessions at vetted local clinics.
Secure video sessions.
Evening/weekend appointments; 60 minutes per session.
Transport stipends, self-help resources, and ongoing care.
Clients choose the format that fits their safety, comfort, and schedule. All services include digital wellness tools, downloadable self-help guides, and physical copies available at our partners.
If you or someone you know needs support, here's how to begin:
Share your location, contact info, language, and preferred session format.
Indicate preferences for therapist gender, modality, and scheduling.
Our team will match you with a therapist partner and you will be able to access their availability and book an appointment.
Sessions are confidential and either fully or partially subsidized.
Worried about privacy? All therapists follow strict confidentiality rules.

2025 Timeline
We collect feedback from clients and therapists at every stage to refine our model. Our evidence-driven approach ensures Morayo evolves with real community needs.
WHO data shows fewer than 10% of Nigerians with mental health needs get care. Most women affected by trauma go unsupported.
Nigerian studies show reminders and digital platforms improve therapy attendance and reduce missed visits.
66% of Lagos women use the internet, far above national averages.
Offering flexible therapy options ensures access for women across different circumstances and locations.
We combine technology with community support to make therapy truly accessible.
Our work is rooted in research, data, and real community feedback:
Our session model is grounded in global and regional research showing that short-term, trauma-informed therapy delivered in 4–8 sessions has been shown to meaningfully improve mental health outcomes, especially for women and girls in low-resource settings like Nigeria.

Of Lagos women have internet access
Higher trust in community-endorsed services
We track attendance, outcomes, and satisfaction to improve our services continuously.
All our approaches are backed by peer-reviewed research and WHO data.
Studies show teletherapy reduces depression and improves life quality.
Help us expand our reach and impact more lives across Nigeria.
